Dear Model T’ers Everywhere,

I hope that this newsletter finds all is well with everyone.  After much discussion and footwork it seems that we may have found a new home.  We will be meeting this month on the 11th. at the IHOP located at 1345 Lee Road in Orlando.  They have a semi-private meeting room in the back where we will be meeting.  As luck would have it (for some of us) Thursday also happens to be the day that IHOP offers a 20% discount to senior citizens.  A map to the new meeting location can be found at  http://ihop.know-where.com/ihop/cgi/site?site=360139&address=.

We have been invited to a tour along the Florida coast on September 26-28th.  We will be staying at the Comfort Inn of Cocoa Beach.  The hotel is located at 3901 North Atlantic Avenue Cocoa Beach, FL 32931 321-783-2221.  Be sure to mention that you are with the Model T group to get the discounted rate of $115 a night.  The contact person for the tour is Steve Florence, his phone number is 561-718-1389.  I plan on attending, feel free to email me for the itinerary if you are interested.

I think that the notice was a bit too short for everyone regarding a tour to Charleston.  It may be that spring would be a better time to go, let me know if you would be interested.  It might be a good idea for us to form a small tour committee to plan these events for our club.

Hershey is coming up quickly.  The car show/swap meet will be held on October 8-11.  Jack Mahaffey has an extra room close to the grounds.  Let him know if you need it.

Wally and Angie Schneider have a great breakfast tour planned for us on October 12th.  From their home in Deland we will be touring a short distance to the Old Spanish Sugar Mill Restaurant located in the DeLeon Springs State Park.  We will enjoy a breakfast of pancakes that we cook ourselves at the table; all of the typical breakfast fare will be available to accompany our pancakes.  After breakfast we will go on a “follow me” tour around the area to see some of the sights and hopefully enjoy some beautiful weather.  More information will follow soon from Wally and Angie regarding this tour.

At our November meeting we will once again be holding the annual club auction.  This is an important event for us to raise money to help cover the operating costs of our club.  So, if you have a few parts in the barn/garage that you would like to donate, bring them on and bring some cash or a checkbook; you never know what you’ll find.

Our annual Christmas party is also fast approaching.  This year it will be held on December 7th. at Ft. Christmas.  We will also be displaying our cars that day as part of the Cracker Christmas Celebration.  At this time we are just planning on being on our own for food.  If other arrangements are to be made for catering we need to do so A.S.A.P.  The person organizing this event will be Mike Story and more information will follow in the coming months.

We meet every month except December on the second Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the IHOP located at 1345 Lee Road in Orlando.  Our next meeting will be September 11, 2008 at 6:30 p.m.

Regards,
